Tammy Hicock is highly regarded as a trainer/instructor in the world of hunters, jumpers, and equitation. She grew up riding in Southern California at her mother’s horse riding facility in Orange County. At her farm, she had the opportunity to ride under well-regarded equestrians such as Ronnie Freeman, Jarvis Esenwien, Linda Kibbee., and Debbie McDonald. In her youth, she was hand selected by show jumping Hall of Famer Jimmy Williams as one of the top 10 riders for the Junior Olympics. During this time, she trained extensively under Bertalan de Nemethy, the United States Equestrian Jumping Coach.

Tammy is best known for her contributions training and developing green horses into brilliant show horses. Her career began riding for Sandi Nisson at Hunter Hill Farm in Southern California. During this time, her training efforts attracted the attention of top equestrians. Horses that she developed went on to show under world-renowned riders such as Hap Hansen.

Tammy came to New England in 2008 with the opportunity to work at top hunter/jumper facilities, where she has instructed students who successfully compete all along the east coast and have gone on to win National level competitions.

Tammy’s extensive experience working with young horses makes her uniquely capable of quickly ascertaining a horse’s needs and translating them to the rider in ways that achieve maximum results. She is especially interested in working with young riders who seek to develop their skills and competitive advantage.  She resides in North Andover, MA and currently trains/instructs in and around the north shore area.
