Tammy
Hicock is highly regarded
as a trainer/instructor in the world of hunters, jumpers, and
equitation. She
grew up riding in Southern California at her mother’s horse riding
facility in
Orange County. At her farm, she had the opportunity to ride under
well-regarded
equestrians such as Ronnie Freeman, Jarvis Esenwien, Linda Kibbee., and
Debbie
McDonald. In her youth, she was hand selected by show jumping Hall of
Famer
Jimmy Williams as one of the top 10 riders for the Junior Olympics.
During this
time, she trained extensively under Bertalan de Nemethy, the United
States
Equestrian Jumping Coach.
Tammy
is best
known for her contributions training and developing green horses
into brilliant show horses. Her career began riding for Sandi Nisson at
Hunter
Hill Farm in Southern California. During this time, her training
efforts
attracted the attention of top equestrians. Horses that she developed
went on
to show under world-renowned riders such as Hap Hansen.
Tammy
came to New
England in 2008 with the opportunity to work at top
hunter/jumper facilities, where she has instructed students who
successfully
compete all along the east coast and have gone on to win National level
competitions.
Tammy’s
extensive
experience working with young horses makes her uniquely
capable of quickly ascertaining a horse’s needs and translating them to
the
rider in ways that achieve maximum results. She is especially
interested in
working with young riders who seek to develop their skills and
competitive
advantage. She resides in North Andover, MA and currently
trains/instructs in and around the north shore area.
